Marsha Brielmann, Director (Retired)
Marsha has been a teacher at the Haddam Cooperative Nursery School since 1975. She is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University (1974) with a B.S. degree in elementary education and a minor in art education. She received her M.S. in art education in 1983. Residing in Haddam since 1973, with her husband and five daughters, she is a member of the Haddam Junior Woman’s Club and the Haddam Literary Society. As do all of the teachers at the Cooperative, she is CPR and Multi- Media Standard First Aid certified. She is also a member of the Middlesex Council of Early Childhood Personnel.

Raye Brookes (Retired)
Raye has lived in Haddam with her husband, Mark, for the past 35 years. They have five children and four grandchildren. Raye has worked for HCNS since 2009. Her husband has worked at Haddam-Killingworth High School since 1976 as a teacher and Varsity Baseball coach. In the spring, Raye can be found working the concession stand at all home baseball games at the high school.

Edie Rochette, HCNS Founder (Retired 2019 after 50 years!)
Edie started the nursery school in her house in 1967 and then brought it to the Haddam Congregational Church in 1968. When the Co-op was established in 1968, Edie became the teacher’s aide and has been with HCNS ever since. Edie has taken advanced first aide courses, teacher’s aide courses and has worked at workshops. She is also active in several agricultural fairs, Secretary of the Northeastern Poultry Congress, and has been superintendent of the Valley Bible Sunday School. She has worked with children ranging in age from preschool to 8th grade. Edie lives in Haddam and has two sons and four grandchildren.
